As part of the 50th anniversary of the University of Arts Linz, the Department of Visual Communication realized a pop-up exhibition titled “Radical Times”. This public intervention on Linz’s main square presented a multi-temporal perspective on the city of Linz and the art university itself, encompassing historical events, current statistics, and participatively developed future scenarios. A central element was the data visualization developed by the artist group Data Vandals, which explored potential future roles of design and art. through performative methods in public space.

Anlässlich des 50-jährigen Jubiläums der Kunstuniversität Linz realisierte das Institut für Visuelle Kommunikation die Pop-up-Ausstellung „Radical Times“. Diese öffentliche Intervention auf dem Linzer Hauptplatz präsentierte eine multitemporale Perspektive auf die Stadt Linz und die Kunstuniversität selbst, die historische Ereignisse, aktuelle Statistiken und partizipativ entwickelte Zukunftsszenarien umfasste. Ein zentrales Element war die von der Künstler*innengruppe Data Vandals entwickelte Datenvisualisierung, die mithilfe performativer Methoden im öffentlichen Raum mögliche zukünftige Rollen von Design und Kunst erforschte.
